After eight years of riding in HCMC with no mishaps, that came to an end last night. Riding home from a mates place going straight and I thought being as careful as normal but obviously not careful enough when a guy with his wife and child turned directly in front of me. Nothing I could do. Me a few decent scrapes and bruises, scoot not so good and the watch totally unscathed
That's a bummer about the damage to the scooter. Most importantly, your Speedy made it out okay! Well, it's good you're relatively unscathed too... Joking aside, happy to hear no major damage was done to you and hoping for a quick recovery. Edit* I failed at my original Speedy model recognition as pointed out by @oddboy
Terrible mistake on my part! I will go ahead and facepalm myself to save anyone else the trouble... me--->
Hope your not too busted up. 8 years.......your lucky, been a fair few times and the only place I would ride was in Phu Quoc.
sorry to see the damage on such a cool bike but at least you and watch were ok. I hope the family on the other bike also escaped unscathed?
Was in Danang recently and had the thought of recreating the "top gear tour of Vietnam" on motorbikes. Would you consider this very foolish undertaking?
I'm ok, i dont think I have ever had bruises so big and have tweaked my shoulder but hopefully nothing serious love Phu Quoc, we go there two or three times a year. Changing rapidly now. The family on the other bike were fine, better than me i think. Suspect they are more experienced at crashing Top gear recreation not foolish at all, once you are out of HCMC it is much quieter. I have a mate who could sort the rental bikes for you, he also supplied the bikes and mechanics for Top Gear.
Oh I thought this was one of those auctions where he takes me out on a date....is it not? All kidding aside, just glad to see you'll live, those pesky bikes are dangerous!
Beautiful GS. This brings back memories of when I wiped out on mine. I did all by myself in my case: pushed more than I should have on a corner and touched the curb.
