It's not the diamonds for me, though I tend to stay away from watches with diamonds (usually), it's the proportions. The 5970 series is a much better balanced reference IMO.

I came away thinking:

1 - The movement and the craftsmanship involved is amazing.

2 - The diamonds are entirely unnecessary.

3 - The precious metals are part of what make Patek, Patek (with the exception of the steel sports watches) - but I'd love to see this watch in steel.

4 - £181,000 on a watch is a lot of money. I know we all earn/spend at different levels/ratios, but to me this was at a point on the spectrum where I cannot imagine being.

5 - If someone gave me the watch, I'd 100% wear it.

Would that keep the diamonds and platinum clean?

Or just make it the hottest sub £200,000 watch in the world in a hot tub? 😗

I refer to this category as the "Hottest Will Never Afford Any Of Them"

Here's some I saw at Shreve & Co. but wasn't allowed to touch 🫨

I wouldn't take it for a Richard Mille, but to each their own. 😝
Haha but in all honesty, if I had the funds, a Patek would likely be first. But if I had MORE funds, I would look heavily into MB&F. Tried several of them on and they are absolutely spellbinding.

Yeah I would definitely wear it, I just wouldn't buy it. A great example of precious stones done well is the rose time only Nautilus with ruby set bezel. I believe they only made four. I can't remember the ref. off the top of my head but it was essentially a 5711r with rubies. Stunning!
