Hey all, So the blue Aqua Terra has always been near and dear to my heart, and after missing an opportunity to pick the "skyfall" in 2016, I have never really let this conquest go. The skyfall iteration is actually pricier than the newer (but not newest) version with the >15000 Gauss movement. Also rarer to find. HOWEVER, I sometimes feel ridiculous to consider spending more for the Skyfall, with an older movement, just for a few small aesthetic changes (dont really care about collectibility). I can always get the PCLs brushed out So my friends, thoughts on the better option? I do love the concept of an anti-magnetic watch. Cheers, Gokul
This is a great watch! I have tried this on many times as well in the OB when I was searching for my "one and only" Omega. After 6 months of debate with myself I did not go for this one, but it was a really close second option. Honestly the only thing against it (for me at least) is that the bezel is less scratch resistant vs the diver options (like the 300, 300m or PO "family")... however this can be dressy, sport, casual... whatever you want it to be. I think it's a great watch... but of course this is all about personal preference. ... and I do not like the previous JB editions either... those bullet things (older 300ms), the yellow 15007 (on the AT), or the 007 logo at the end of the seconds hand (Commander's watch)... ehh... well... I do not like them. The Spectre one was cool... that's a nicely wearable piece without any gimmicks.
I definetely prefer the older edition "skyfall". This is 41,5 mm version and I would not change it for a newer model.
I like the master, even if the price was the same. Slightly better movement, sure the date window isn't outlined but I do like the PCL's personally because I do not have any watches with them. What else are the differences besides the "inferior" movement, brushed center links and outline around the date window?
I own the version with PCL and without the date window trim. I actually like it more as the dial looks cleaner. The only downside is the bracelet. I think it's inferior to the quality of the rest of the watch. Would love to kniw if a PO bracelet will fit
I love the rarity of the Skyfall, but personally prefer the newer 'Master' series watches, which I'd argue house some vastly improved ergonomics, a more symmetrical dial and a better movement. Looking forward to seeing the new (if any) additions to the AT line this summer.
