Hi, just purchased this linen dial Rolex and not good at catching variances from the original. Owner said 100% original and authentic. What do you all think?

Is this an honest peice? Why? Why not?

Would need to see more pictures/angles to speak to the watch as a whole. The linen dial looks fantastic, really clean. Of course the crystal is not original, missing the cyclops (at the very least that has been removed.) You’d want to test the lume - very uniform and on the lighter side for 1969, so either lucky with the aging process or enhanced.

Looks good at first glance, but more info needed.

Yes, the seller stated this: "this one had a period-correct Rolex T12 tropic crystal installed by the boutique at time of purchase."

I added some photos. Hope this helps.

Possible on the crystal. In the new pics it looks like the watch has been polished, but not too bad. Crown looks to be original. I'd still suggest testing to see how that lume lights, and see if its uniform - particularly that hour hand. Hopefully just how it's showing up in the images. And then enjoy that watch!

Private sale value? 6694s seem to be in the $2000 - $2500 range these days. Upper end usually with the bracelet. I’d say the linen dial adds value, but the crystal might take away a bit as some look to this model as a cheaper entry to vintage Rolex on the road to Datejusts eventually, so want that classic cyclops look. Another thing that keeps these models a little lower priced is the manual wind movement with a screw down crown - can become a bit tedious and can wear out the crown/stem quicker.

That was my guess too. It appears I paid market value for this. But I truly feel you pay for what you get. I have not seen a Rolex linen this clean at market value before. I was looking for one for a bit. It looks like it was very well cared for.
