By just missing out on this

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/33196878...4099b36548a&bu=43615056170&cp=1&sojTags=bu=buPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

I guess I thought the price was too good to be true!

The initial description had the watch at 1980's which confused me with the bracelet. But when I got the serial and bracelet numbers I put the 2 together to realise it was a 1990 piece and everything seemed ok, but was too late! I guess next time a deal comes up i'll know to be quicker.

It amazes me how few people are able to take a head on, centred photo of a watch when they want to sell it.

No worries, a better one will come along. All you need is patience. [emoji16]

Right? Or can't manage rudimentary lighting so that you can tell the color of the face.

Hesitation, in this hobby, comes from inexperience and possibly subconsciously not REALLY knowing if you want that particular model. It's a condition called "horological decisionitis". Now that you lost out, if it really stings than you know you do want that watch and won't pussy foot around the next time a deal pops up.

When I miss items like this, I console myself reasoning the person who actually won it would have gone way past my max :(

OP - another like that will come along. It was a decent deal, but not amazing.

@Vercingetorix - that was a real loss - sorry about that. Once in a lifetime deal...

Was at work and someone messaged me this around 8pm, but gone by then. Would have snapped it up without hesitation. It also annoying because eBay is running a silent promo 10% off max $300 if you buy from Aussie sellers. Just do a search for any item on the .com.au site and it will come up.

I saw this coupon just after it had sold, makes the sting a little deeper!

That's what I had thought. Did I want it because it was a deal? Or because I really wanted it. In the end I realised it would have been a nice first speedy, a daily wearer I could use, not feel too precious about and was very affordable for me.

But as others have said, more will come! I've only really been keeping my eyes out for 6-8 months. If only I had been interested a few years ago a vintage speedy might have been within reach.

The only thing worse than hesitating is selling something you like and immediately regretting it like an idiot

my take on "hesitation" was always : unlike a hasty BIN, hesitation does NOT cost you money ... that is why I tend to err on this side of things

I hear you there! Almost hit that BIN button a few times only to re-read the description and recoil in horror
