Not overly concerned about the aesthetics of them. I find them very useful - form follows function.

Rolex lovers! Let's unite in NOT telling the world what WE don't like about brands other than Rolex! When we see a contrary word about the watch we love, swallow hard and consider the source! Somehow, when someone criticizes, say, Rolls Royce, it seems to sound as though they know what they are talking about, and that their criticism seems somehow, what's the word? More credible!

    Hmmmph!

    You call that a blueberry?

This is a Texas blueberry. This is a four-year-old bush. Photo was taken this evening, just a few moments ago. To be fair, it was moved and transplanted last fall.

The nursery which sold us this one claimed it was a variety which thrived in Texas climate. Do ya' think we got took?

I love blueberries, but it appears we'll have to continue to purchase ours. We've had about six total from this bush in former years. Even the pitiful few it produced were filched by the mockingbirds before they completely ripened and we could get to them.

You have (what we here in Sonoma farm country call everything that fails to produce) a male blueberry bush.

And I'll pass on the external cyclops. But then again, it seems ok somehow on a Rolex.

I didn't know cyclops generated hate and anger....I think they're kinda cute!

Seen a fair share of these Airman (I feel like writing "Airmen" here!) with replacement crystals and cyclops that don't quite line up over the date window. Which is of course, the worst of all possible outcomes.

I like my Explorer II and the cyclops is part of it.

As much as I really don't care for the aesthetics of the cyclops/wart. The older I get the more I wish my watches had them.

These can easily be made to align properly...if it's the correct crystal, it's just a matter of rotating it in the case.

    Cheers, Al

Sure – sorry, didn't read your reply well enough. "If it's the correct crystal" being key. I've seen a few where the crystal was not meant for an Airmen – or was meant for an earlier or later model Airmen with a slightly different layout perhaps – then the cyclops is ~ 1mm or so offset in one direction or the other from aligning over the date window, and can never be rotated into position.

It's a dopey look. Like bifocals sliding down the nose of your watch face...only where you can't reach in to push them up.
