A few words of appreciation from a regular ol' United Statesian:

Thank you for being at our side during two world wars and at our darkest hour following 9/11.

Thank you for negotiating and agreeing in good faith to forming the most powerful, valuable, successful bilateral trade relationship in the history of humankind.

Thank you for being the best neighbour-nation that any nation could possibly hope for.

Thank you for that. “You know who” doesn’t give much thought to whether we’ll get through the results of his petulance, but we will!

I trace my ancestry, both maternal and paternal, 12 generations in Quebec, back to the 1640's. So I agree with @Jones in LA in their native tongue.

Being originally from an upstate New York border town, I want to chime in here with a full-throated “hell yeah!” before this thread gets too political and locked. 🇨🇦

Yes, please, just keep this nothing more and nothing less than positive vibes for Canada. And yes @Vitezi , hooray for Poutine!

As an American, I most definitely appreciate our neighbor to the North. A large chunk of my family tree goes back to Quebec in the 1600s, but they all came to the US in the late 1800s. So I have always considered Canada as part of my roots. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Looking back, it's remarkable how my own life became entwined with our dear neighbour to the north. For nearly twenty years I worked for a company that had equal-sized offices in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Calgary, Alberta. After the first NAFTA agreement went into effect I was able pass back and forth between offices seamlessly, and ended up accumulating many months as a guest resident of Calgary. Then, later in life one of our daughters (and a lot of our money) went to McGill University in Montreal, allowing us to get to know an entirely different part of the country, and an entirely different culture. We feel richly blessed by our experiences in Canada.

Living in Australia, we appreciate Canada as Canada appreciates Australia and New Zealand. The USA has completely lost it's Way. You will need Decades to rebuild the Trust, that was a given only 4 Months ago. And that's only the Start of the Problems, the USA will encounter in the coming Years. Kick your lifelong Allies in the Guts, will not end well. Life is more than a Business model. The old Enemies will not be your new Friends. Education is the key for change.

Thank Canada also for zippers, Hawai’an pizza, and the concept of the quartz watch, electric wheel chair, insulin, peanut butter, snowmobiles, ink used in paper money, the Avro Arrow.

For those who have never seen the original Molson commercial “The Rant” (circa year 2000):

And it’s recent update:
