I recently received a couple of extra clear case backs from Thomas Preik and thought I should take a picture of them to show off the beauty of the 861 series movement
I've always enjoyed (my age really shows by using this term) "exhibition case-backs". However the one shown that appears to come from Omega is most interesting. Are these available and if so where can they be sourced?
Yummy! Lovely collection! Yes they are around, they come standard with the "Sapphire Sandwich" cases but I think you can also buy them separately. Archer might be able to help out - he helped me source parts for mine
Ya that's who pascs was referring to (Thomas Preik) - his are really great quality as I understand. I personally prefer the original parts approach though.
The Preik casebacks look better on the early Speedmasters like 69 and earlier, the OEM ones look wrong because of the text on them "First on the moon". It just doesn't look right on a pre-moon watch.
Knowing that you mostly post from personal knowledge: How 'bout showing us why? I'll bet it's a beauty ;-)
Thanks Miki Don't have an exhibition back yet. I've been looking for one though. But 145.012 was "First on the Moon" so I need one. Here's mine.
Maybe - LNIB? If I didn't know better I'd tell you: "Wear in Good Health", but I don't think you'll be wearing this one ;-)
