Someone's gonna get fired...
Why didn't they ship it via C-17 or C-5 if it was so sensitive?

Ah nah mate, just bung it on Fedex, she'll be apples.

Lateral stability is going to be an issue with that tail fin Steve, although that tail wheel is big enough to provide some yaw control.

My new plane. Needs a suitable propellor that will match the rest of the plane.

Drank more than a few of those in Cuba! 1/2 the price of a can of Coke.

Is it tasty? I would expect it to be a bit plane…

Good decision guys!

Great fan of MB. In a previous life (RAN/RAAF) was involved with them (the seats) at all levels from safing seat pre and post flight to full seat overhaul. All seats from MK1A through to MK10. Also trusted them on a number of occasions when flying as a pax in Vampire, Sea Venom, Macchi MB326, BAC Strikemaster and Mirage IIID.

70 years ago, on this date... 27 September 1956
The fatal crash of the Bell X-2 killing USAF test pilot Milburn "Mel" Apt occured after the main parachute of the X-2 "escape pod" (detachable cockpit & nose section) failed to deploy...
It renewed apprehension as to the use of escape systems onboard fast jets. For the X-15, A-12, SR-71, etc... ejection seats were prefered.
US Air Force photo shows Captain Mel Apt on the left with Captain Iven Kincheloe on the right.
