Incredible. Explains why I cannot afford anything with a guilloche dial. “The machines themselves, are almost mystical...”

I own one of his wonderful watches (801 "Corp of Engineers" with his in-house movement). Although the dial of that model is enamel and not Guilloche, I've been to his workshop and watched the guilloche process. Unreal! The guilloche machines are so heavy - many from the early 1900s - that his floor needs to be reinforced with steel beams from below to support their weight. Definitely worth a visit if you have any opportunity to be passing through Central Pennsylvania! Right @Larry S ?

My Reverso is my only Guilloche watch. I own two of Roland's enamel dialed watches and I've been admiring the Model 25 even though that is not an in house movement. Fully agree that now that I have time on my hands, a visit to SE/Central PA is a must do. The machines are beautiful.

Wonderful machines . True artisan skill that very few have today.
I remember reading a Hodinkee article where Breguet have 15-20 of these machines.
I have a Breguet 3237 ,unfortuanately I am certain the dial is "faux" (stamped) , looks nice but not the real thing.

Here’s my J&B with the black rhodium ( applied to a silver substrate dial) ... completely hand made. Relatively affordable watches - where this type of finishing is desired.

I guess any thing is possible. Alex Ghotbi is now Head of Sales for Phillips Auction house.
Maybe Dr. No, Art, or Bill Shone might know as they both knew Alex from The PuristS where Alex was the VC Mod.

WOW! I please link anything even close to this. To this day I cannot wrap my brain around how watch work was done 100, 200, years ago. How the heck did they make those microscopic screws and such. Part of the amazement.

Here's a very good Youtube video from a few years ago inside Breguet's Guilloche workshop.
