But of course, it is also a tribute to the original gold Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo XI 1969 that was presented to President Nixon, his Vice-President Agnew and to the astronauts […]

Next to the original version from 1969, the vertically brushed Moonshine gold looks very understated and classy.

True! However I think the bezel color on the 1969 one is a bit classier...

I heard that Omega is having an event in Zurich. I heard from an OB manager and the rumor has it that 2 models will be announced soon. Maybe not today though

Great article Robert, thank you. A very fine watch indeed. One thing though that I believe was not discussed here is the buckle. While narrower, it looks as thick as the buckle made for the 57 trilogy. Do you confirm please?

The new ceramic bezel looks amazing... and probably fits better as ceramic material to the Gold case.
(Was the fact of the frequent lost bezels on these Gold Speedies not related to the fit between Aluminium & Gold ?)

    Edit
: R-J ordered in such a way to have at least matching numbers I suppose

Great article and thanks for the comparison. Both look great, but I still like the warmer dial/bezel tone on the original compared to the new.

Thanks RJ for a great article, especially for so many special details with this watch - reminding me of the Snoopy with all the special details (not all of them popular). I am not a fan of the Au750 inscription - "CHRONOMETER" (like the 25th white gold) would be better IMHO, but I guess it should not be a deal breaker. 32k  is of course another matter ...

don't know about static color of Moonshine gold, but the gold patina on the original looks pretty damn cool

Yes, between the two I prefer the gold color of the original

I'm reminded that many enamel dials by Patek and others have the 'email' inscription. Omega following that piece of history perhaps?
