Well? Universal Geneve has risen high enough in the market to warrant extremely well done redials/fakes. Do you think this falls within that category? Or do you feel it's original? Your thoughts first. http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-G...491861?hash=item488de8d5d5:g:34kAAOSwH6lXQ157Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Gigi seems to have one exactly like that https://omegaforums.net/threads/bernardini-milano-ug-overload.40251/page-2
"Under New Management" does not realy make the seller more trustworthy... What happened under the old Management?
Well, I have one exactly like that on my 22430. Mine was published in the Schiffer book To Stop Time in 1998, so well before any runup in prices. I believe it is a legitimate dial variant albeit rare. I think I have photos of one sold by Stefano Mazzariol on my computer at home.
It is correct and original. Much too perfect to be a duffer. I have seen one like that before. I presume very few of that particular reference were made and some dials have probably never seen the light of day. Hence the pristine condition. Very lucky owner. however, price is ridiculously high!
I suppose the dial is around 4cm/sq. considering the monolisa is around 4500cm/sq and the cost of the monolisa per $22k cm/sq, that dial is a bargain at $3.7K per cm/sq. Think how much it will be worth when it is as old as the monolisa! I may start framing my dials ....
Price is not the problem, if some creazy guy can pay it !! That's the problem: 15k + 45k ?? for the other parts ??????? 60k FULL WATCH NAAAAAA not possible GIGI
$15,000 dial guy generates his own demand. He's offering this now for $14,000 http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-G...430628?hash=item488e437424:g:C1QAAOSwgtJXTh3uPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
How does a NOS dial perfectly preserved for 70 years end up looking like this on the backside? ...when to look as it on the front side implies it has been kept in a vacuum – or at least under non-stop climate control – for most if not all of these 70 years. This is a white dial, so I would expect to see some slight discoloration or oxidation at the edges.
