I fancy one of these, there seems to be midsize and full-size, automatic and quartz.

Could someone list the references so that I know what I am looking at?

Also what is a fair price for these?
    TIA

    2252.50 Mid-Size Auto (36mm)
    2254.50 Full-Size Auto (41mm)
    2262.50 Mid-Size Quartz (36mm)
    2264.50 Full-Size Quartz (41mm)

Prices vary from about £800 to £2k.
£2k will get you a very nice 2254 full set box & papers.

That is only the black dial steel version, there are also electric blue models and models in titanium and gold. And the America's Cup LE and non AC non LE to name but 2 more. There are dozens of sword hands SMP references.

Right but Peter Blake only wore the 2254 right? I’ve never heard of those other references referred to as the Peter Blake

@Noddyman nailed in his first post. The black face is the one I’m after. Quite a few on eBay, just difficult to narrow it down.

I’m ok with quartz for this as not having to keep it wound is an advantage when you have a couple of other that need wearing/winding! I use my current quartz SMP to set the time of my other watches against

Not to my knowledge no. I believe he originally wore (and possibly helped design) the America's Cup model. He also had a SM chrono and an 2254. I have seen Blake's name used to describe many of the sword hands models. It was discussed here:

Kringkily has a 2254.50 in good condition for sale at the moment. Easy going and a reliable seller.

@padders is definitely the expert when it comes to the SMP, he certainly owns a few.

This is interesting as I have a 2254 & I've never heard it called a "Peter Blake" before although I'm aware of his reputation & keenly followed "Steinlager 2" in the Whitbread back in the day.

I may be wrong but I think it is more a UK thing. Though he was a New Zealander I understand he spent more time in the UK.

Never heard this name associated with this watch until I joined here. Like many other nicknames, it's nothing official from Omega...

Seems like he had a lot of choices though:

But look what he is wearing here in this pic borrowed from Fratello, its an AC not a 2254:

It's a Seamaster that this guy wore - there's no "Peter Blake" name for it as far as Omega is concerned...that's a collector's thing

Completely agree with Al. Same as the Rolex Daytona nicknamed "Paul Newman" or the Universal Geneve "Eric Clapton". All of these (and the numerous names given Heuer models) come from the collector community. It is unusual for Omega to use the name of a person, although I believe the 2536.50.00 Limited Edition piece was created with "Gerry Lopez". Even the "Bond" SM300M series acquired that name after appearing in the movie series.

Collector thing. Bond=Skeleton hands, Blake=Sword Hands. Apparently 2533.50 was the first associated with his endorsement of the brand.

Jacques Mayol is one who had some Seamaster Apnea models named after him.
Coincidently he died in the same month and year as Peter Blake did, December 2001.
