I know the most famous Eterna Kontiki was the popular model issued to the IDF in the early ‘70s but what I don’t understand is whether they made this model specifically for the IDF. I know some civilian ones were issued (I own one) but they seem few and far between. Other military watches like the Autavia and Submariner (Tudor and Rolex) were widely produced for everyone. The IDF era Kontiki’s are always associated with the IDF. Were these not widely marketed outside of Israel? The only reason I used 73 in the title is because of the heritage version otherwise I would have called it a ‘72-75?

I don't believe these KT Super were specifically made for the IDF, although Eterna has always been very popular in Israel and IDF might have had some input in the design... I do know the earlier 60's IDF KonTiki was specifically designed by and for IDF

imho one of the top military divers ever produced!
