I just found the Seamaster Calendar I recently sold back on ebay, sans box and BOR bracelet, for $25 more than I sold the whole package to him... Then I look at his other items and see the box and bracelet in separate listings. I guess that story about buying it for his son's birthday wasn't entirely true...

I can't be mad, I had trouble selling it and let it go cheap to fund acquisitions that had already been made. Kind of a shame to break them up IMO, knowing the bracelet came on that watch originally (and possibly in that box). I think his starting bids on the bracelet and box are aggressive, but he will probably do well overall.

Watch (at least he mentions the rotor was replaced):

That's part of the game. Keep an eye on it to see what happens.

Yeah, I'm more curious than anything. I didn't lose money on it or anything, just a shame to separate original pieces like that (and I don't like being lied to).

Not a big eBay player. Certainly not getting rich on these.
Maybe his son did not like it.
Maybe he is just trying to make a living and feed his family. Who knows.
Possibilities are endless. You should sleep well.

We have a phrase in retail: "Buyers are liars". As long as he didn't flake (ie: say he'll buy it and disappear before payment) or try to say the box was empty and scam you count it as a win.

I'm assuming the original buyer's son isnt that old and I think most kids dont want a vintage watch. I've tried to persuade my sons they should look at vintage watches instead of buying new or newer models but they arent really interested

we can call it 'watch restructuring': when you buy a watch then sell the components separately for profit.
Like corporate restructuring done by vulture company.
