Thankyou Omega Forums,

I’m finishing here, but before I go I’d like a couple of shout outs firstly to Dash 1 for showing the differences in the Omega Seamaster 300 crowns between the original and the service replacement without that info I would not have placed any importance on the returned parts from an Omega service, put them away never to be seen again.

Secondly to Archer for illustrating the difference in types of stems with the correct part number whereby after my first mistake managed to get the correct part.

With that combination and with the help of others, managed to fit back the original crown to my 300, which was still good condition.

It only leaves the Service Hands which needs to be colour matched to the dial, I still have the originals somewhere which are rusted, and I am pretty sure that was a reaction between the chrome and the tritium.

By the way all 300’s In my purchasing endeavour in Melbourne and Geelong in 1969 and 1970 were all fitted with 1039 Bands.

I’ve learnt a lot and its been great and a great watch to boot.

You are more than welcome. I’m glad it was of positive use to somebody! Your 300 looks lovely, I hope you stick around.
