This was my first ‘real’ watch. It was purchased by my grandfather in 1945 while serving in the European Theater and given to me by him when I was 14. He put on a new dial at some point, but the watch means more to me than any possession I have and I think of him every day when seeing this even though he’s been gone almost 20 years. It was inoperable for years, and parts were hard to come by. I am thankful to have found a very caring watchmaker locally who was able to bring it back to life, and at over 75 years old, is keeping time within 11 seconds a day. For all those in the states, a very happy thanksgiving to your and yours.

To me a good watch is one that tells a good story. By that measure yours is one of the best! You are right, a good watchmaker is very special. One that will take the time to resurect an old special watch is so valuable. Happy Thanksgiving!
