... for helping me get this, a real gentleman.
The first picture was the only one avail to assess the purchase.
The last was taken this morning, after a quick toothpaste polish of the crystal. (There maybe some toothpaste left, as well as a couple scratches....).

    Best regards

Very, very nice! Congratulations on yet another great acquisition. Some day you're going to have to post an all-included photo of what must be quite an extensive collection :)

Thanks dear Mr. @Jones in LA.
Until relatively recently I called myself just an enthusiast but I must now admit it is indeed a collection. However it's very humble compared to many....

A very nice pick up @Syrte! Another Longines to the collection and it's a looker on your wrist!
P.S A side-by-side photo with my similar watch one day? :p

    Thanks so much @Modest_Proposal.
I have to measure exactly but smallish of course... I'd say 32mm. Thankfully didn't break the bank. I'll take a caliper and promise to update.

    Add/ edit: yeah, 32mm.

@Syrte ... it may not be the most expensive collection but it is one of the most intensely curated methinks. Show and tell time!

Happy that I could be of help @Syrte !

That watch surely looks good on you, so I think it's a perfect match.

For the crystal, here's a tip; use wet sanding paper. First grit 600, then grit 1200. Finish off with this in a wet dish cloth

You can use some of the Autosol for the case too if you prefer. Will remove some oxide on the surface, but won't take away any material on the case = all wear and edges etc will still be present.

@marturx thank you so much again for the advice.
What is "wet" sanding paper, is it a special kind different from the regular type?

::shy:: Is that water you're dipping it in? How do you protect the watch from getting water on it?

Dear @Larry S it is an honor to receive such compliments, at the same time keeping a certain level of privacy is important to me.
For those wanting to see a bit more, I had posted group shots in a thread entitled "what type of collector are you" or something close...

Thank you, and a lovely gentleman indeed.

Believe me, you think you are only an enthousiast and one day you wake up realising that you have an ´humble collection.´

Next step is usually 'Me? I can stop buying when I decide, I have full control! And in case of need, I can sell (just have to find reasonable criterias for deciding which ones' )´

Specilialists tend to agree that at this stage, ... well ...

More seriously, your collection is an example for its consistance and its quality!

I get good results with Polywatch which you can purchase from Amazon. The sanding requires a practiced hand. Yea the wet or dry sand is problematic with the crystal on the watch.

Thanks @Larry S I do have Polywatch but it seems it has aged and two components have separated. Also I find it doesn't do much with the deeper scratches.

Ps ... what I admire besides your sense of style is your patience, thrift and persistence in the hunt. I'm desperately trying to slow down do the same.
