Many years ago a mate invited me up to his property north west of Gympie to hunt some vermin, and as I was a city boy I was like hey that'd be cool, go up and do some hunting with him and his dad. So after a 2-3 hour car ride from Brisbane I'm up there and they've got a couple of rifles and we start walking. Several hours later, we're still walking, and we haven't seen anything but some cattle, so we keep walking. The whole time I'm sort of asking where these vermin are... because in my raised in Brisbane mind, I sort of had imagined that all of the feral pigs, cats, hares and whatever else would be all sitting together in a clearing somewhere grouped up a few hundred meters from the house waiting to be shot and that we were just heading for their hang-out spot. I didn't realise hunting was just walking in circles all day hoping to find an elusive creature that's smart enough to know to hide when people are around. So after getting a lot of exercise in the heat I ended up heading home bored to tears and completely disinterest in ever going hunting again.

I've never been fishing, but being on a boat with beer on hand makes it sound far better than hunting as a form of relaxation.
