I've done a good amount of diligence, just for academic purposes really, trying to discern what's up with this watch: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-OME...488810?hash=item41a125e26a:g:zKwAAOSwrklVMbZiPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network All I can tell so far is that it's lacking the 'Seamaster', and the dial color seems unusual/incorrect for this watch... but on the other hand the case is pretty tight, and a non-U.S. 471. Also, is this actually 'rose' gold (or put differently, were these produced in 'rose')? I notice it's been on the bay for a cycle or two. I did my diligence, but still haven't seen definitive info that (1) none were made without the 'Seamaster' and (2) none had a dial that may petina in this direction. Ultimately, these sorts of watches are far from my strong suit, so interested in the authorities out there. Let the education begin! View attachment 179677
my assessment: re-dial is wrong case looks good except the case back (pretty worn) box is missing the insert price is too high
There is a similar watch in a Finnish site http://www.huuto.net/kohteet/omega-seamaster-xvi-olympia-1956/387149039 Omega achieved 25 years timing in Olympics in 1952 and to honor that they made two models to Melbourne Olympics 1956 having the Helsinki badge which can be see in case back. Price for that one owner watch is 5890€ and it is served 07/15. This watch has been on the Finnish watch museum.
