Ok, Speedy experts. Can you tell me how a 46ml (c1985) or a 48ml (c1990) could find it's way into a 145.012 case. My eyes aren't that good to see the slightly out of focus Movement serial (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Auth-OMEGA-...Mens-206487-/281760797005?hash=item419a40914dPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network) but it looks like a 48xxml.

I know that serial and year tables aren't gospel, but this seems a long way from the early '70s.

Slightly, no very, confused at this point. ::confused2::

The table I like and refer to is: http://chronomaddox.com/romans.html

My apologies for that. That makes the case ref slightly later then. Either way doesn't that still put the serial movement number of 83ml circa 1990 according to the chart? Unless of course it was a 145.0022 which it's not according to the case back.

Sorry, I missed it too. Serial of 48 mill puts it around 1990, which is fine for a 145.022.

Hahaha...not if you're in Oz then it's a bright Sunday morning /afternoon and the hangovers are slowly dissipating with the same clarity as Omega movement serial numbers and their years .

Sorry to hear about your mum's dog. :(

BTW, I expect an answer from you on this tomorrow when you have filtered through all that booze. ::facepalm2:: ;)

Ok, but not early....not that I'm the serial king. If you can reach AL he is an incredible resource when it comes to that.

Ok, that's good. I have been misreading the table, I think, by assuming that the year in the table is the factory production of that movement so a 84ml number would have been produced in 1990 only be placed into a corresponding 145.0022 case as it is read off the table - which doesn't make sense. Off to the Moon Watch Only book for some serious reference study now! Enlightenment required.

That's probably an understandable addition given what I understand to be your most likely state of awareness at this moment. ::psy::

It is my theory, based on not very much, but enough, that 48m serials were used by Omega as service movements for a time.

I bought a 69 premoon with mid 80's omega service, that had one, and saw a mark II with the same thing.
