Hi, I bought a Tag Heuer F1 Indy 500 Chronograph watch but am still not sure if it is real or fake. It has the serial numbers but I guess anyone can fake these.
How can I be certain that it is the real thing?

High chance that it is a fake. While looking for this dial vairant, I found this site. The site sells replicas, and it looks awfully close to yours. The style number appears to be CAC111A and the serial is JE5447, which is the same as on the replica. This is just some info I was able to find doing a very brief online search, so may have to hold tight for some other people that know TAG's better.

I also get a bad vibe from the way the lume is applied on the hour markers. Can't quite make out if its from the photo, but it looks like they're a bit all over the place and not to the same QC you would expect from a Swiss watch.

Same here, I believe it might be a fake. The bracelet links look too cheap. I had some Tag Heuers before and the links never looked like those in the pictures.

Best bet is to open the case and see the movement

What is said above, try to see what movement it has. Can open the case back with a rubber ball.

Folded links = fake. As much as others downplay TAG Heuer, to the best of my knowledge, they for the most part always used solid links.
