Tag Heuer Quartz Chrono - Keep or move on?

I’ve got this Tag Heuer CK1111 that I’ve had for 17 or so years, given to me on my 18th birthday. Loved it at the time. I’ve not worn it for the last 10 or so years and have been debating selling it. I reckon it will get £4-500, which will contribute nicely to something else, but I’m hesitating. It has some degree of sentimental value but since that birthday my parents have separated and there isn’t much of that family anymore. Still, I think I feel a bit guilty selling it.

Removing the emotional side, does anyone think there is any reason to keep this?
I think I’m just looking for reasons to support doing one thing or the other!

Thanks!

If you no longer like it, aren't wearing it, and you're not sentimentally attached to it - let it go.

As you say, that cash could go towards something you would like/wear.

Move it on and buy something happy that makes you smile. Life is too short.

Keep it. You can always make more money, but you cannot always get your watch back.

Don't sell it. It's a keepsake. Put it back in the original box and put it away.

…..there you go @timmyk86 , all the angles covered!

Haha exactly!

Not much better off than when I first asked! 😕

Appreciate the opinions nonetheless

Sell it, and six weeks later, you won’t have either the watch or the money! And if you use the money to buy another watch ($400 to $500), that won’t buy you much of a watch. A great way to downgrade your collection, I must say! I suggest keeping it.

I still have an old Tag, probably misplaced the box and the additional links so it’s too tight for my wrist these days. I’m keeping it as I think my kid will probably like it growing up, and I wore it for the best part of 20 years.

Seems the overwhelming opinion is just to keep it!

Appreciate £500 isn't the largest amount for a new Omega but it is a reasonable chunk towards something vintage...

But overall you're all probably right - no harm it keeping it. Even if I won't be wearing it anytime soon!

There's so much stuff you could get for £500... ::stirthepot::

Haha. Very helpful!

Ok, ok... so let's play a game of things for less than £500. 😁

These were all bought in the last 18 months, all of them were less than £500 (some of them much less).

They represent a very small sample of things to be found for under £500... which to my eye are all more appealing than the Tag (which I'm not going to feel bad about been mean about, because you don't seem to like it either! 😝)
