In looking around at older Omegas, and older watches in general, I have noticed that on the bottom of the dials a lot of them have either "T Swiss Made T" or "Swiss Made T" what is the difference in these 2 markings? Is a single T a giveaway that the dial is either refinished or fake? From research my understanding is that the T markings are for the tritium rating and there is "T Swiss Made T" and then there is "Swiss Made T<25" but haven't seen any mention about a "Swiss Made T" marking. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A single T often means there is tritium on the hands but not on the dial.

Got it, Thanks, so then I'm assuming the dual T's would mean there's tritium on both?

It is my understanding that the single "T" was used on earlier dials, but I may be misunderstanding.

A few months back I was looking at a Speedmaster Companion ref 165.002 it had only one "T" but lume on both the
hands and dial. I had not previously seen a single "T" dial but it turned out they are not uncommon, just less common.

Hoi is right, there are many misconceptions regarding T's. In the past many wrongly thought, number of T's = amount of Tritium .
The import thing is: if there are is no lume on the watch, there should not be T's

Don't feel bad. Watch collecting is rife with people who are certain they are correct about any number of things, and they are often not correct.
