I may have missed something in the coronavirus thread but haven't seen this mentioned? To be sure no country is escaping or will escape this thing and everybody seems to first worry about themselves. The Chinese of the Wuhan area have suffered so much already. But right now it is so sad to see the havoc this thing is creating in beautiful Italy which can be so welcoming. Note to self: bring tourism back to Italy as soon as possible.
I echo your sentiments. So sad to see all the pain and sorrow across the world at the moment. Here in the US, we're in a period of uncertainty as no sizable testing has been conduced. I have a family trip planned to northern Italy which I'm certain will get cancelled. The great aspect of humans is our resiliency and perseverance. I'm sure our beloved Azzuri will be back and strong.
All my sympathies and best wishes to Italy, we (France, Spain,...) will need those too in a couple of weeks.
Thank you all for solidarity. I live in Lombardy and life is really hard these days. But we aren't discouraged, we will come out stronger!
I saw a news report this morning from Bologna. Strange to see all the empty piazzas and attractions. I could sure go for some pizza and gelato right now
Shared and seconded. Regarding... I am quite looking forward to doing that myself. My avi is of the Loggia Amulea from the square in Padova, and the news from that region has caused us to want to visit again.
I've been messaging a few if my Italian friends, its mad there at the moment. My thoughts are with them!!
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/03/who-gets-hospital-bed/607807/ I can’t imagine being in a position having to triage who is going to live or die because there aren’t enough resources to treat everyone...
Thank you all for the thoughts. Isolation is the most challenging part, so feeling a connection even just through an internet forum and shared interests is comforting. Grazie
Agreed, best wishes to everyone. I actually recently moved to South Korea from San Francisco for my company.. Ironically, South Korea seems to be one of the safer countries now that it's sort of dying down. I did hear that they found someone with Coronavirus in a congested part of Seoul so let's pray for the best.
Much respect to all health workers & nurses taking care of patients! Let's hope this will be a seasonal thing like influenza so we can visit beautiful Italy by the summer...
Such a lovely country, ive just ordered a load of porcelain floor tiles suppose just have to be patient
It's a fake news! Italian Doctors are treating all patients who arrive in hospitals in the same way! We also treat and save children rejected by the British health system!
A public-health scientist and biosecurity and infectious disease expert was quoted saying this during an interview. Not saying everything that comes out of his mouth is gold, but I'm more inclined to believe him personally.
