With typical luck, I recently came across a photo of a Reverso that seemed perfect - only to immediately find out that only 10 were made It's the Ceniceros special edition in rose gold. One of the really appealing features is the sword style hands & although the current 976 has a similar/the same dial as the Ceniceros it has the thin stick hands which don't look as good to me. Do any of the JLC aficionados here know if sword style hands were more common in any of the earlier periods of modern production ? Ideally in a "Grande Reverso" case
I almost always see the baton style of the stainless steel model in your last picture. The sword hands are pretty nice though. I wonder if you could order the sword hands and have a watchmaker put them on. Obviously, keep the originals, but you'd have what you want relatively cheap.
Thanks Dennis. That thought occurred to me too. As there are at least another two watches higher up my priority list, this is one I can ponder for at least another year or two. A rose gold 976 with a black face & sword hands would be a nice little project for further down the line Ps. Glad to hear you're out of harms way & I hope we don't have any members who are in the areas that are getting hit.
By the way, I did find a reverso "memory" produced relatively recently which has sword hands. It's an interesting model but looks a bit too small for my wrists. https://www.chrono24.com/en/jaegerl...-id2010544.htm?id=2010544&comingFromRewrite=1
