I am sure this has been asked before, but can someone break down for me how to interpret contrasting maker's marks on watch brands like Yema, Le Jour, Wakmann, etc.? I know the movements are Swiss (generally Valjoux or Landeron). If the dial says France, presumably the dial was made in France. But what about the cases--French, Swiss, or someone else. By way of example, I have this 7733 Chronograph by "Tekel" (now defunct, I assume), and the inside caseback is market "Anguenot Freres," which is a fairly well-known watch/clock maker from Villers-de-Lac (f. 1881). So what does this indicate in terms of manufacture, assembly, etc? DSCN4096.jpg DSCN4103.jpg DSCN4136.jpg DSCN4135.jpg
