Swatch drive-in at the HQ in Biel

Wanted to share a couple of pics of the new curiosity that opened in Biel next to the new building of Swatch.

Exactly like the well known fast food drive-in’s, there is a menu at the entrance

You choose, place your order without getting out of your car and get your watch like you’d get your burger

Spotted on Swatch Linkedin account, the pic above and both below were shot a couple of days ago when US President Trump picked up some wrist food on his way to the World Economic Forum in Davos

What do you guys think? Cool idea from Swatch? Looks like tourists love it and they made the buzz.

I think the concept is cool and like the idea. But, the girl who spends the whole day in the Ivory Tower alone waiting for some tourists to pickup a watch without even getting out of the car, looked to be one of the most boring jobs ever...

That is fun. Years ago I was working at Nabisco HQ. When you walked in, you knew. Kids loved it and we had a store in the lobby. Contrast that with Kraft who bought us, that HQ looked like a bank...or minimum security prison as one Kraft old timer put it. Its great to allow the public to interact with your product at HQ.

That is a pretty weird concept but then again so is a normal fastfood drive-through. I mean seriously that is the epitome of indolence and why on Earth would you spend more time in your car than absolutely necessary.

I guess a Swatch drive-thru could perhaps possibly maybe be fun for about two minutes the first time you visit 😒

Somehow I imagine that you would have an unlimited supply of these working at Nabisco HQ

When I worked in NJ years ago I had a co-worker whose husband worked at Nabisco HQ in East Hanover, NJ. His job was devising and setting up assembly lines for new Nabisco cookies, mainly Oreo's. His wife would bring in all kinds of prototypes and test runs, the cool thing was they were less than 24 hours from the oven. A fresh Oreo cookie tastes different than the ones you get at the supermarket that may be weeks old.

I agree it's a pretty cool idea and a novelty but I'm wondering how viable it will be in the long run.

Any chance of Uber Eats? 😉

Been there. In all its quirkiness, I loved it as a brand statement. Swatch is all about affordability and repetitive buying, so the analogy makes sense to me.

What's next ?
Speedmaster world and Omega-Land ? 😁
well, you already have an Omega Boutique. That is Omega-land......
As we speak they are putting a drive-thru at the back so you can get delivery without needing to go inside....😁😜
