I love the mock vintage charm of the bb58 combined with its modern durability

It's a brand new 200m dive watch and under warranty and bought to be a proper everyday watch.

Any good reason why I shouldn't go surfing with it a couple of times a week? If I'm going to freeze my balls off, I might as well do it in style :)

Currently wearing it on an MN strap and would keep it under my wetsuit.

There are some videos of guys surfing with a pelagos but not sure if it's an officially endorsed activity by Tudor

why not? It's a dive watch, and I am sure it will handle surfing. Unless you crashed it onto some rock, woops.

Absolutely, go for it. Wash after use, salt on fabric straps gets pretty crunchy. How about rubber strap...... could work, maybe a tropic. Thinking that through maybe the security of 2 spring bar security may be a good idea. It popping off would be my only concern.

Cool ! Definitely prefer having a one piece strap going through both spring bars

    Here's the video I mentioned

Aftermarket from George's straps. Cheap and cheerful! Will probably splash out on a vintage erikas originals one later.

+1 for the Erikas. Very secure in the water. Pricey yes, but IMO worth it

May go the vintage route for the BB58, But I love the factory colors

    Here's mine on my Samurai

Have been waterskiing with a dive watch at 70km a hour and fallen off.

    Surfing should be fine.

The watch is endorsed by Tudor to go 200m deep in the ocean.
It says it right on the dial.

Interestingly for high impact water sports according to the link below 200m WR is the recommended min

    Interesting article in general.

Hitting water at 70k, think seals would be ok, I'd be concerned at the crystal popping out

What kind of skiing are you doing? Salamon, trick ski, jumping. Seems a bit fast for any of it. I've done most all of it and would not wear a watch for any of it. To paraphrase Buzz. When waterskiing...the last thing you need to know is what time it is in Houston.

    Have fun

I used to love B2B on the Hawkesbury when I was based at Richmond.

Spectating that is, on picnic chairs and with an Esky chockers with tinnies to keep us hydrated.

And you probably need to recalibrate your speedo, most of the top skiers seemed to be doing warp speeds.
