    Dear all, I’m evaluating to buy this 168.019 day date with grand soleil dial.
    Quick questions for you guys:
    What do you things about the scratch on the dial at 5? This scratch decrease value?
    Which is quotation in your opinion?

    Hi, yes a scratch on the dial does detract a bit of value. Does it look like a battle scar? That would help its value, but just a flub or flake of paint is a good reason to negotiate a bit. That just makes sense, right? Its less aesthetically pleasing so worth a slight percentage less than if it was mint.

    Thats my view of how anyone would shop for a vintage watch. Condition is everything- exterior, dial, hands, movment inside- its all important.

    I would wonder how the scratch got there. Mall kiosk service? What else was done inside the watch due to lack of knowledge or butterfingers? The scratch could just be a stand alone blemish, or it could be a sign of more problems under the hood
