In some ways I prefer this one to the Apollo XI BA145 022. Its a little more understated and does not have the huge pricetag!

brick of gold as in understated. lol. I just love the safe queen patina of old gold. it has the crazy tonneau shape case of the 70s already which is just reminiscent of the 70s while still carrying the 321 caliber. this one is just plane awesome and waaaaay rarer I guess especially in this condition. but perhaps some of the senior members can chime in when we talk about rarity. common desirability is something else though, but buy what you like!

The tarnishing looks absolutely fantastic in my eyes! 🥰
It looks like painted.

I thought gold didn't tarnish?

This is not pure gold. That would be too soft to build a watch case. With most gold jewelry, silver is mixed in, which tarnishes.

I’m not a fan of the tarnishing!

Looks like it was stored somewhere in particular...

I wonder where and how long it was stored. My 18k gold watch started the tarnishing process in an oak drawer(most woods produce a lot of acidic gas) within a year or two. Its the copper and silver in the gold alloy that corrodes. I love the watch .

I’d never feel comfortable wearing it out of the house, so I’d pass.

Don’t get me wrong — it’s beautiful. But not my thing.

I'm curious where the lume is on the dial, and even on the hands. The photos are overexposed to the point where I *think* here is lume on the hands near the center, and possible for a very short amount near the tips of the hands, but I really cannot be sure. And I can't see any lume plots on the dial. It would be nice if there were some photos that were not so blown out.

18 karat gold
(Case: 18k yellow gold, screw down case back)
(Closure: 18k yellow gold Omega bracelet and folding clasp)

.... "concentration of 75% gold, and 25% other metals/elements. The 75% gold content ensures that the gold alloy will have all of the desirable properties of pure gold, while the other 25% allows the metal to be strong enough to retain its shape and survive the rigors of everyday use. Depending on what other metals/elements make up the additional 25% of the 18k gold mixture, the color of the gold alloy can be influenced to achieve an impressive range of different hues."

nice bracelet

+1

I only buy watches to wear and this is beautiful but far too ostentatious for me

Screams "old man watch" to me, so hard pass for me, even if the crap was cleaned off it...
