So I just received this new Constellation today - gold capped with a little deterioration on the SS part where the case back meets and some darkened spots on the medallion and I was wondering if anyone suggests any polish etc to clean this one up a little. I’m absolutely fine and understanding with not getting most of it off as it’s part of the “character” of this beauty but at least to clean it up a little. I’ve searched the forum but could only find suggestions for the crystal or found info about NOT using brasso for anything on a watch.

    Thanks in advance!!

Most here would suggest leaving well alone but if you must I would recommend using a Cape Cod polishing cloth.
Use gently on the stainless parts only until you achieve the results you require.

Me, I’d clean the outside case manually (no machine) and polywatch the crystal if necessary.
I really don’t see the need to have fifty years of other owners' crud on this nice watch on my wrist.

Those were my thoughts, I didn’t want to really touch anything else such as dial etc, just minor touch ups on the outside case and medallion. Nothing crazy. I know the deterioration has slowed and won’t really come off but any other crud I could remove is ok with me.

I’ve seen some posts about just soap and water and a toothbrush too but first wanted to see if there were any other things people use before I’m extra careful getting water near this thing at all haha

Start off with a dry toothbrush and Selvyt polishing cloth, that’s my usual first port of call. Failing that go very gently with the Cape Cod.
