Got a bit carried away with himself there didn't he. Now it's in the press, don't be surprised to see someone else have a crack at him either ::popcorn::

The guy deserves to have his watch stolen. The watch deserves to be melted for scrap.

Why do you say it was made up?

Because I work in the industry and witness the constant manipulation of the public by p.r. people all the time.

i just checked and the "story" came from the NY Post...Has Dan Klores' fingerprints all over it. Haha. I recognized the writing style, Like, omgawd!!

Never heard of him but I have heard his friend's name before (but I don't know why)

Agee with Dennis - that watch is feckin' hideous so I guess the police are either looking for a pimp or a drug dealer.

Um, you guys realize this entire story is made up, right?

full of cross promotion and flack pr.

that said (written), this sort of general scenario mostly keeps me away from the WRUW, today? thread. I even wrote as such just the other day.

just yesterday, some marginally famous musician / mtv guy got jacked near Times Square in broad daylight for about 100k of jewelry and a watch. Maybe it was a set-up and could have been an insurance scam but who knows?

Then you post 2 rolex watches on WRUW;)

Hypocricy makes the world go 'round. (I hope you didn't put a whammy on me!). Please send my family some money if you read about me getting beat up at brunch in the Hamptons. TIA. Ha

This guy is a tool regardless if its a real story or not...and it is so very unlikely anyone could ever connect you to your watch via this obscure forum while using a random screen name! This forum does not have the exposure of a Facebook or twitter and most importantly it doesn't connect you with your real name, address or current location...
