Limited Edtion Omega SpeedMaster Professional Moonwatch with Beautiful and Unusual Meteorite Dial

Welcome to my listing, I hope you enjoy it!!:
  • A opportunity to own a lovely stainless steel Omega SpeedMaster Moonwatch Apollo - Souyez 35th Anniversary Editon
  • Stunning, limited edition watch with a truly beautiful dial made from genuine meteorite
  • The dark colour of the dial is a result of a surface oxidation process, the lighter sub dials are polished to the meteorite's non-oxidised colour. Both look amazing in various lights throughout the day.
  • I understand that because the dial is made from slices of meteorite no really two watches are exactly the same
  • 2010 Watch - Model no: 31130423099001 with Chronograph and Tachymeter functions - I don't need to talk about the build quality on this forum!
  • Only 1,975 of these watches made - This is no 1718
  • Commemorative engraved caseback
  • All Paperwork / Omega Cards (Serial number / Watch Number / Warranty/ Manual), Sales Reciept
  • Dealer warranty still vaild until July 2014
  • Special presentation case (lovely substantial case, steel accents - grey leather used reflects the 'hewn from rock' theme!! Marked with mission patch).
  • Watch recently purchased fron one of the largest Omega Authorised Dealers in the US (Govbergs) and in perfect working order
  • Excellent Condition although not 麓new麓 as per strictest definition (ie tags / plastics / totally unworn) to all other intents and purposes it is 'dealer fresh'.
  • Watch purchased in July 2013 and it has only been out of the box a few times and not worn for more than a few hours in total
  • I am happy for the watch to be subjected to any reasonable scrutinity to verify its authenticity (e.g. I work near Hatton Gardnen could meet at dealer).
Above all I'm a watch guy and I know you folks are as well - always happy to discuss sensible options for viewing etc. I want whoever buys to enjoy the watch and the experinece of ownership that we all value. You know how it works - any questions just ask, always happy to talk watches on the phone or face to face!

Its a great watch - you'll love it on and a cracking conversation piece (it's been out of the box mostly to share with other people !!).

Additional Specification
  • Mechanical Omega caliber 1861 chronograph movement
  • Power reserve of 48 hours
  • Case diameter 42mm
  • Water resistant to 50 metres
  • Black Tachymeter bezel
  • Steel bracelet with folding clasp
  • Solid engraved case back
The Mission
On July 17th, 1975, two spacecraft met in an alliance of nations between America and Russia - the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project mission. This cooperation led to the build of a permanently manned space station and was also the last ever NASA Apollo mission. The Apollo-Soyuz 35th Anniversary Speedmaster commemorates the occasion and the Speedmasters worn by Lt. Gen. Stafford and Lt. Gen. Leonov during their historical meeting,

Price
  • I would like 拢4495.00 for the watch. Serious offers considered.
  • I had always intend to keep the watch as I buy watches to wear not to flip. An unmissable opportunity add to my collection at a great price (PP Nautilus) has come up and this sale will (part!!) fund that purchase. I really purchased this as a 'keeper' but with the new aquisition, I just don't see this watch getting worn as much as it deverves - money is also a factor 馃槈
  • Having been there myself, it is always important to ensure that you are comfortable when making such a purchase. I am always happy to discuss with serious buyers any details about the watch or indeed myself - I am new to this forum so will share as much background information with the buyer as they feel fit.
Payment
  • Cash / Bank Transfer only
  • Watch will be shipped / released only once payment banked and verified
Shipping / Buyers / Sale
  • I would ask that you make arrangements for shipping if you would like the watch delivered - you can then ensure appropriate service and insurance to your requirements. Otherwise pick up from home (St Albans) or work (London)

Interested in comments even if not buying. I really like this LE (evidently biased) - but view of Omega enthusiasts better informed than I to where this stands in the desirability stakes is always of value.

Not too say I am not a fan - My first 'proper' watch was a Seamaster which I still kick myself for not keeping. Just acquired a vintage Omega as my first foray outside of 'modern' watches. Would not class myself as expert by any means!

Appreciate that is not the 'holy grail' but not sure where sits on the wider scale.

Cheers

While not even close to being a good watch collector yet, I have always loved watches and two years ago finally got serious about growing a collection. Since you're interested in hearing comments, I LOVE this watch and wish more than anything I had the $ to buy it. The details on the hadns & markers are great (especially the second hand) and facets of the dial are fabulous. I hope this finds a great home and gets worn because that is where it should be, on a wrist, not in a box!

Thanks. I have to say it is a real wrench selling !! The dial just makes the watch for me.

i have to admit I am surprised at the lack of interest I've had on this site. I actually sold this watch on e-bay at first time of asking a week or so ago. It attracted a good amount of interest and unfortunately the buyer pulled out after committing.

The eBay experience was just so painful I thought I would try another route. (countless offers to take it off my hands at an idiotically low price, suggestions of meeting at petrol stations on the M1 to do a cash deal, the buyer issue......you get the picture!).

I can only imagine that my very limited history on this forum might put people off ? I may relist on eBay and publish link here - so folks can see a 7 year unblemished history.

cheers

Hi Vinndy,

Thanks for taking the time to comment - clearly I'm selling the watch but I love the discussion as much a anything else (was at a party last night and sat next to a jeweller - made my evening !).

The dial really is very cool ahas got me thinking in general about grey dial watches (I have black and white dial watches) but grey is really growing on me. A little off topic but I saw this recently and thought the combination of dial, hands and other details was just stunning (better than the speedy ??). I genuinely think it might the best dial on a watch I have ever seen..it has a real Deco feel (I have a couple of JLC for that reason).

check this out and thanks for your comments - hope the collection keeps on building!!

Don't take it personally that the watch hasn't been snapped up, most of the regulars here have more of an interest in vintage. Even the Snoopy's and other desirables can take a while to sell - but they all do in the end.

Thanks Spiki,

Wise words and a fair point - after all the forum is not solely dedicated to my interests.....

Also enjoying the chat -as you mention the Snoopy, I always imagine that is one that really divides opinion. Clearly iconic, limited and kind of cool in a quirky sense - not sure I could pull one off though.

At the other end of the scale there are those out and out abominations (IMO) - I'm thinking of the Rolex Domino Pizza LE in particular - google it for a giggle! (I am otherwise a fan and an owner of the brand).

Cheers

Supporting Spiki comment, people in here is more incline to Omega vintage rather than modern. I got feeling WUS Omega is more into modern. However many sell modern Omega successfully in here, too. Probably George/ kringkily is the best example. Very patient, some of his LE sold after 3 months or more from listing date, but I haven't seen anybody churning Speedy Pro regular and LE more than him.
One suggestion, if you had strong record in eBay, why don't you share your ebay name in here. I do checking FS seller reference in Ebay, too.

On your watch, Speedy soyuz meteorite is really handsome and amazing. Photo can not capture the Intricacy and awesomeness of the dial. I saw first time in Omega boutique in Jakarta. Omega Indonesia only had one available and plan not add more. So when one appear in modern recommendation in here back in June at very reasonable price, I jumped and snatched it. After 3 months the box finally arrived so now I have the complete set.

Ok, that wasn't as bad as I thought! I was imagining a dial that looked like a pizza!

I'm a fan of the brand too. Definitely better than Pizza Hut!

Thanks - good to know and good idea! my ebay name is moule7199.

You are SO right about photographing the dial. I only have an iPhone 5 - no real camera and the pictures were awful! I bought a camera upgrade so I could take higher res / better quality. I then took abou 100 pics from all sorts of angles - I got some reasonable ones, but like you say, never looks as good.

Sounds like you love yours and I can understand why! Happy wearing !

Ha! Yes could have been worse!

The dominos watch was an incentive for their top franchisees and hence could not be bought (at least not new) and I understand that as such it becomes of itself rare and collectable.

I just don't get how the design folks at Rolex would let that go - I know I probably sounding like a bit of a brand snob, but to me it's not that. It is the addition of something so out of keeping with a great design - it's like Aston Martin putting a massive spoiler on the back of a DB9.....

I do!!! I think this is the best looking Speedy Pro LE ever. Of course I am being subjective. Several member in here also have it: Darren and styggpyggeno1 for sure.

a quick questions for her:
- how many handbags does she have?
- how many pairs of shoes does she have?

the difficulty is when you get to the point of having more watches than she has handbags/shoes.......

I generally go with the watch will hold its' value and as this is an LE you may even make on if in years to come you should ever need to sell.....
