Up for sale is my circa 1969 (2885XXX range serial number) Omega Chronostop Geneve, Reference ST 146.0009, that has been freshly cleaned and refinished by Swiss Time Services. Original factory finishes have been re-applied all round, making this exterior of this watch as fresh as the day it left a jeweller back in the last 1960's. Mechanically, the watch was serviced by the previous owner, a retired watch maker who had a jewellers in Uxbridge for a little over 50 years up until 2012. He took this in for repair in the late 1980's, after it's owner jumped in a swimming pool wearing it... unsurprisingly this did quite a lot of damage, and a new service dial, hands, date wheel, case back, and a lot of the movement parts were replaced. The customer didn't collect, and the watch maker kept the watch in his safe for the next 25 years, putting it up for sale in 2013 after giving it another service. I've worn this about once every other week between November 2013 and December 2015 - it winds smoothly, Chronostop function works as it should, and as worthless as this statement is "it appears to keep good time". Simon at Swiss Time Services checked the watch over before refinishing the case, and it was decided at this time that it was keeping good time, and not currently in need of further service work, or regulation. So, a watch with a story, not currently in need of a service, with a wonderfully refinished exterior - ready to be worn and enjoyed. Reduced to £650 including PP fees. I will ship internationally, and will cover the first £10 of shipping costs.
A couple of questions on dimensions: Top to bottom edge it's approximately 38-40mm. Side to side excluding the pushers is approximately 33mm, with the pushers approximately 36mm. The strap is adjustable (screw in piece on either end of the Milanese that lets you extend/shrink the length), which take it up to a little over 8".
Price drop to £1,050 including Recorded insured delivery in the UK - need to move this along to pay for a few services...
Back up for sale... As much as I like, I haven't put it on since taking it down from sale. The reality is that I'm just not likely to wear this watch, and it would be a crying shame for it to sit in a drawer. Price dropped to £995 to me after shipping/payment fees. Please get in touch if you're interested.
