Pretty useless bracelet and unappealing DON bezel. The dial is a very nice even tropical brown and the case is really perfect. Still I was surprised that someone outbid me at that price. Forum member end up with this one?

Wow, that's a nutty price. The case looks unevenly polished on the left-hand side to me too. I suppose people are really dying to get their hands on tropical dials nowadays, even if the watch they're inside is far from ideal.

I was in it too. But not at that price, really shot up at the end, the way an auction ideally goes down.....for the seller

What was up with that bracelet? Was it a 1039 clasp attached to something else, cause didn't look like any 1039 I've ever seen

I was surprised at price too. Sat about $5k before jumping up to $11k in last seconds.

Seems crazy, but just this week a straight writing with horrible hands and dial sold for $5.5k and a tritium 321 hand set for over $900.

Oh, and there is a JB Champion bracelet bid up at $780 with 2 days remaining.

I thought the case wasn't polished, but I'm no expert

Anyways shows that people will pay a premium for an example assumed to be an honest pawn shop find over an example from a dealer

Well: I'd say for a fraction of that amount you'll find a better one.

I don't understand this at all, but maybe someone more knowledgeable will enlighten us. The way I see this watch:-
Sold at $11,500 for a head only (that bracelet isn't worth $ is it?), brown dial, with a poor DON
69 DON of this nature should be $6,500 absolute max plus brown dial premium, how can a brown dial be worth $5k?
Is there someone, somewhere with buyers remorse, or is there something I'm missing?

Well there were 7 people willing to pay 7k+ for it. I asked for additional photos and it appeared to be a pretty exceptional example to me. I was very surprised that someone outbid me, I thought $11.5 was going to be way more than enough to win it

If you have a -69 in the right range with a black or crappy dial, the one could enhance it.. Flip this one with worse dial to make up the outlay.

    People do it.

Moonwatch only points out all the ways. Dot diagonal to 70 and little details in the text on "tachymetre "

If that was an exceptional example, then what is mine or @pitpro?

I photoshopped the pics and didn't look so hot to me.
