I'm looking for a strap to replace the bracelet on my SMPc. What are people wearing? Omega did two straps for my Speedmaster ‘57 and I swap between th OE leather with deployant and the bracelet. Does Omega do any OE ones for the SMPc? Pictures would be nice.

It depends: do you care about branding, or is value ranked higher? In my opinion (albeit limited as is), one could get a better quality strap priced cheaper or thereabout to an OEM strap. When you factor in the customization, ostrich, alligator, goat leather...you just might come out ahead.

I've purchased straps from some forums sponsors (genteel-handmade.com) and via Etsy with great success (https://store.primria.com/) Some example photos attached...

Still - to some SMPc may look best with OEM bracelet or a NATO strap.

I was thinking more along the lines of something that could be used in water. OE or other brands but would prefer a deployant clasp.

Hirsch Performance straps for me, hands-down. Some really handsome, yet waterproof and sporty options, build quality is also excellent. Highly recommended.

First two are Omega NATOs, third is Crown & Buckle, last is Hirsch Grand Duke.

On the highly unlikely chance that you're never to use your bracelet again... can I have your micro adjustment clasp? :p:D::bleh::

Just kidding. ;) Well... sorta. LOL

Steve, on the first pic how were you able to avoid that double tuck thing on the 12 o'clock side of the strap? I love Tudor NATO/fabric straps as they don't do that, and i'm hunting for a genuine Omega NATO the same.

I removed the third keeper and excess second layer strap so it's like a single layer RAF strap, did it to the second as well...but that photo with the Commander NATO was taken in the FedEx parking lot 30 seconds after I got the package.

I see, thanks for the response - hopefully not a silly follow up question: I've spotted a few youtube videos on doing a NATO the RAF way, I take it you've gone the extra mile then and as you say actually removed stuff? I'm almost tempted to get another blue Tudor strap, but if I can get an Omega one without all the extra guff hanging of it, that would be the preferred route.

Omega's nato straps have two layers under the watch. I cut off that layer that holds the third keeper about a quarter of an inch past the stitching that binds it to the full length strap, then singe the edge with a lighter. I've also trimmed my Omega straps about an inch in overall length...probably sacrilege, but I do not like all the extra material that gets in the way. Ideal length for me is 11 inches/280 cm, that's one of the main reasons I love Crown & Buckle...besides quality & price they're a perfect fit for me. I wish Omega would put the keeper with "Omega" engraved on it right by the buckle.

Your pictures of the Grand Duke looked so good, I had to get the same golden brown color. The watch now wears much lighter as well without the heavy SS strap. We will see how long the waterproof leather lasts with regular pool swimming and some snorkeling time in Hawaii.

It's warrantied for a year, and water proof to 50 meters...although I'm not sure what depth has to do with it. Enjoy Hawaii!

Haveston Fortress...color modeled after WWll B-17's. Polymide construction, too.

Unashamedly shallow. If I didn’t care about branding, I might not be wearing an Omega......:D
