Hi members, an original 1039 flat link bracelet for my Speedy is out of my budget at this time, will a 1171 fit this case? Otherwise any other recommendations for an omega bracelet for my watch?

1171 will fit. 516, 677 or 808 endlinks can be used (808 Wil need filing down).

 

Not sure why an 1171 wouldn't fit, I have a 145.12-67SP that it worked just fine on. Ended up selling it because I enjoyed it more on leather and NATO straps though [emoji482]

I'm a big fan of wearing it on a Hadley Roma mesh bracelet. Sort of a similar look to some of the old JB Champions.

 

With all due respect to the 1039 lovers out there but I think the 1039 looks great on the proper Speedmaster but I always thought that wearing it was somewhat of a pain. It is rickety, pulls hair and flimsy. I wore my Speedmasters (sorry, now long gone) on a 1479 bracelet for comfort and kept the 1039 in a drawer. Nobody would notice except for a fellow Speedmaster aficionado and I never came across a live one once! I thought the 1479 was very comfortable, rugged and looked ok...

 

Thanks for all your suggestions guys...I do have several natos and a rally type strap too..

I've got one with JB Champion NASA mesh, and the other with Omega alligator. The dark brown strap looks great with the patina on my other 105.012-66 CB

 

NATO or a leather strap with minimal stitching looks great!
