I picked up a G 6518 late last year that I thought would make a nice graduation/wedding gift for my daughter (she finishes her master's and gets married this May). The watch is in great shape and was just fully serviced. The watch came with its original, but very worn out strap, and buckle. The problem: The lugs are 5/8" but but the buckle is 15/32". I want to replace the strap and know I'll likely need to go with a 16mm strap but finding one with a 4mm drop to 12mm, is proving difficult. Any recommendations?

I would suggest finding one of the hand made strap companies out there that you like and ask them. Most of them are making everything to order anyway and I'm sure most would be willing to work with your need.

Lots of vintage NOS 5/8 straps on eBay. A 16/12 is not unusual for a lady's strap.

Alternately, Strapped for Time will make you whatever you want.

Thanks, I was using the wrong search criteria. Got what I needed.
