What do you guys think for the Seamaster 300?

What do you guys think. Not sure if I'm going to be wearing the 300 on the nato I might want to grab a strap.

 

Funny you should ask I just put mine on a strap...

Oh the strap if you are interested is the "Miltat" from strapcode, I bought via Amazon. Be aware that you need to select the length as they only have a small range of adjustment.

 

I wonder if I go orange how it will look. Most people go vintage but I'd like to see it. Maybe I'll pick it up.

 

Yes I looked at the "orange" version of the strap I went for. I would not mind a bolder tan color but as it was described as orange I decided against it. I'm not unhappy with the saddle version that I got - but it only arrived today so time will be the real test!

It really is very comfortable. I keep thinking of putting the bracelet back on, but this is just too comfortable.

 

I actually really like the idea of a bright tan strap.

 

I wouldn't recommend the orange. A little too much "pop" and doesn't really match up with anything any design details of the watch.
A tan or medium brown leather strap with contrast stitching is a classic look. It's the strap that Omega supplies on the factory strap option.
I sourced an SM300 MC for a friend and also gave him the matte black alligator from the "Sedna Black" DSOTM and it really dressed up the watch and looks fantastic. The black cordura from the "Black Black" DSOTM could look nice as well, and I sold a vintage calf SOTM strap to someone else who uses it on the SM300 MC and they said it looks incredible.
Almost any darker nato looks amazing on this piece as well, although the OEM Omega "Bond Stripe" looks best IMHO.
Very versatile strap watch, as long as the colors don't clash too much.

 

I haven't found anything I absolutely love. I do like the Omega Bond Nato and the Hirsch accent rubber isn't bad.



I'm thinking about picking of one of the DSOTM straps (the one with the smaller tongue hole so it's not hard to use a regular buckle instead of the super expensive ceramic one).

 

The "tang" style DSOTM strap can only really be used with a buckle that has a large center tang. The hole itself is 5mm wide, and most large tang buckles are either 4mm (which will be loose) or 7mm (which won't fit). It's a very nice strap, but unless you're using an appropriate buckle it will fit weirdly.
The newer deploy-style SOTM straps can be used with any Omega-style deploy clasp that's 18mm wide.

 

I think the Black Black has normal sized holes but I think I'd have to use a Omega deployant and I don't like deployants. What I need is the top half of the original DSOTM strap and the bottom of the Black Black. I'm sure Omega will go for that, don't you?
