STS have a specialist refurb service, apprently they do "invisible" repairs which I think means "undetectable" dial restoration.

    Hi Spike
Thanks for the tip but I think to concentrate on the case first - the dial is in good order for its 73years.

They do the case too - everything. It's an official Omega service centre with a restoration unit. They did a bit of work on the case of my 145.029 which was very good & in line with the original finish.

The service manager is Simon Freese. He's the best person to speak to. The main receptionist Linda will try to get you to define the issues before she will try to connect you with him. Or you can email specific queries for him through the above email address.

Don't think I would do anything to the dial or seconds hand as they look original. Even a "sympathic" redial will kill the value.

I would do a relume of the hands, a general cleaning of the case and of course, a total movement service.

Any good watchmaker should be able to do this at a resonable cost. I understand STS to be excellent, but the cost is sky high.

    Hope this helps,
    gatorcpa

Helps a lot thanks Gatorcpa, I have already contacted Simon at STS and the guestimate for servicing and refurbing the case was in excess of £400 plus VAT and the dial was not included in the price.

Will do as you recomend and visit my local watchmaker.

    Cheers
