    Dear Friends,
anyone seen a pre moon top dial like this one before.
At first glance i thought this is a neat Ed White dial.
    However:
    wide spaced Ts?
no collumn type of 321 caliber feet?
service dial? no as it is a step dial
861 caliber dial ? no as it is a non professional dial.
despite some water damage it "feels" original but I do not know where to put it....
    Thank you in advance

it looks like a service dial due to the small hour indices but I am sure some experts from the forum will bring more info very soon :)

    I understand.
did not know there were also black non professional stepped service dials.
seems to be a rare service dial...:whistling:
even rarer than those blue ones... :D

    70's service dials.
Omega did fit service dials with 861 feet onto 321 movements.

This ones in the air. I don’t agree with this @ndgal , while some have been seen. I tend to think they where not done by omega. It’s easier to put a 861 on a 321 then the inverse. An 861 needs the posts shortened and filed down to fit a 321.

There seems to be an unbroken line of 321 service dials post 1969, in various configurations with fonts matching the post 77 change. Fun fact there are no 861 service dials for regular production 145.022 and descendants, as they just got whatever was current production.

interesting that none of this topic has been mentioned in detail in MwO except some non step service Dials as well as the blue soleil dials.

Not much reason... not particularly common and easily spotted. As discussed on this forum more then a few times.... I personally think Omega has them made in small batches as needed hence the diversity of fonts aml/printed, short/long, domed/stepped out there. Basically when you see non conforming dials with combos that don’t exist it’s a service dial.

Does anyone have the page where MWO describes this dial for 321 speedmasters? I don't believe they call it a service dial.

How about step with long indices but no AML? I’ve never seen another but MWO do hint that they have heard of it.
