Hello Guys Any idea about this text and rail color? Very strange for a MK1 ...moreover index looks puffy, not usual for this Mk right?
Lume seems off. First saw the pictures on the cda it looked interesting but now that I see the first picture it looks like a gilt... Fishy!
The lume doesnt look that puffy to me, but the markers look darker n dirty from 5 to 11, could b moisture ingress. It does look like gilt but could b the lighting. The insert is service replacement made to look aged. If u r thinking of buying it, there r better specimens IMO. The case looks strong though. Depends on the price i guess.
Thats a tough one. Its no doubt authentic maxi 1, but the dial is not in the best shape based on the pictures. The coronet seem to b shaved off on the left side. The y, f, n the middle 0 also seem to be scraped. These would not be obvious unless looked through a loupe. As to the patina of the lettering, i kinda like the vintage look. But If they r not white then the dial had been exposed to moisture. If u r considering buying this watch, i would recommend getting pictures between both lugs just to make sure. If im getting this watch i would replace the insert with mark 3 FF which will cost at least $500. Given the inflated prices of this vintage lately, its not terrible, but there r better example for slightly more if u r patient.
i like the patina also, the insert will not be a big deal to find I think and the case looks sharp. The price has to be adjusted for sure but i like those 'dirty' looking 5513
looks like tritium loss making dial look odd. Macros would help determining true condition. Hands look better than dial for age, perhaps newer set or colorized. Not perfect but has a nice vintage worn look. m
