Any thoughts on the serial number on this 861 movement out of a Teutonic? 2.9mill would suggest 1902! Which obviously isn't right. If it's 29mill (missing last number) it's 1970 so still to early. Or is it some kind of Service movement? See the photo attached...
Looks like a franken movement to me. Graining is missing on the escape wheel bridge and possibly the balance cock. Balance has 3 spokes (of the wrong shape) instead of 4 spokes. Personally I would avoid this one...
@Archer It was offered to me earlier in the week so glad I checked, I will have to politely decline it. Any thoughts on where that serial number has come from though?...
