Hi forum members, just for fun, I thought I’d see what suggestions I would get for a straight swap for my speedy- It’s not the best conditioned one by far; The original bezel has a ding and case has a couple of scratches but what it does have is really good “lines” on lugs, original fat neck pushers and Extract stating it was a NAAFI delivered watch.. What watch would you straight swap for and why....

Nothing...it's a great 105.012 with great provenance...I would love such a watch! Try to get another one like this...you will be hard pressed.

Its not the worst conditioned one either, in fact I would be happy with it if I didn't already have one I am happy with (in similar condition!). Polish that crystal, get the movement serviced, and wear the hell out of it.

    +1

FWIW : IMHO thats rarer than any Rolex worth twice the value ... by a long shot.

EDIT : but if I were to straight-swap ... it would have to be a 2998 in similar condition :whistling:

I would probably say yes to a zenith Daytona 16520 with black patinated dial...

    I don’t understand this thread.

First you ask for suggestions on what people think would be a good straight swap for your 105.012. I assume straight swap means no cash from either party. Then you answer your own question with a Zenith Daytona which is worth maybe 2x or 3x the value of your watch.

Yeah, I’m only having a bit of fun.. no suggestions have come forward yet.. I wouldn’t ACTUALLY swap my ‘66 speedy for anything.. But if someone was crazy enough to offer a Daytona I MAY NOT BE ABLE to say no..

@Tri-national-man What’s the serial number? It is amazing how many Speedmasters from this period turn out to be NAFFI.
