Agreed. Question : which lugs would get the most 'natural-polish' from being worn? Those at 6 o'clock? Or those at 12 o'clock? My gut says 6...

    We were at the sale:

The rogue 2915 is in there on far right.
Mrs Fruit wears her blue on mesh and I had another 2915, and the last was the 2915-2 also in the sale

I chuckle every time I see you refer to “Mrs. Fruit”! You’re both good sports!

Not a straight lug but it's made of the same stuff.
Yep! It's possible to survive... as long as it isn't over polished. To my knowledge this watch has been cleaned but never polished.
My old man was a truck driver through the 70's and 80's and later in the 90's a warehouse manager. He wore this to work everyday for 35 years. I know it aint a straight lug Speedmaster but the twisted lug edges of the later 105.012 models are just as vulnerable to wear and you could shave with these edges.

The only part of this watch that is showing a fair bit of wear is the part that was in constant contact with the wrist for 35 years: The case back.

So it would seem that it is possible for a case to be relatively free from excessive wear after 50 years. Even if it's worn to work every day. Depends what happens to it during it's life.

Lovely watch and a tribute to your dad. Pass it on because it has your family history. Not many of us can say we have a watch with so much emotional value.

Yes your right @Dial & Bezel. It does. The other thing I like about those mesh bracelets is that they have a 'soft' look. They look as though they would be very comfortable in comparison to a heavy linked bracelet like an 1171 or the more 'chunky' contemporary steel bracelets.
