A friend has asked me for advice re: a stolen ‘60s vintage Speedmaster. He has the original warranty which shows a reference # 1012042. That appears to me to be the model number for an Omega crystal fitting tool, and not a Speedmaster model reference. I have checked the Speedmaster reference chart, and that number doesn’t show up. Does that number mean anything to anyone?
Here is a picture of the original warrantee. He also had a Constellation of about the same vintage stolen. This guarantee might be pertaining to the Constellation. But that number doesn’t look like a Constellation model # either.
Going off of the 2495xxxx serial number, shouldn't it be a 67... since the the 145-012 start at 2406 xxxx Or am I wrong?
The owner has confirmed that he has sent me pictures of two Omega warranty booklets, and that the one I uploaded (ref 1012042) pertains to the Speedmaster, not the Constellation.
Many of these stores used internal references for watches, but the internal reference I've seen used for Speedmasters most often was 6126 - I think your research for the tool probably shows us that whoever filled it out made a mistake, mixing up the reference on one box in the storeroom with another The serial would tend to belong to a 105.012-66 though yes
November I think. Sold in Geneve so the European (and most logical) sequence. And a close sibling with also 24.955 serial was a 105.012: https://omegaforums.net/threads/wit...05-012-66-as-original-as-you-will-find.55257/
Thanks to all. This has been very helpful. Based on the prices I have seen listed for these, my friend can hardly believe it!
