Well, I've had my stainless Seamaster Planet Oean 8500 for a month now and I still adore it. I wear it more days than not and the rest of my watches (my two other Seamasters included) are spending more time in the watch box than I thought they would.

That's because they're awesome watches to wear. Of course I'm a bit biased......

What size is that vs wrist size? I'm toying with getting one but am trying to decide if the 46mm is too large for my 6.5" wrists.

Mine is the 42mm. I think his is the 45.5 as the space between the date and the marker is bigger on his watch

its a matter of taste but most people i know with that wrist size find th 45.5 too large for a daily wearer. I have both and find the 42 to be perfect for any occasion and the 45.5 to be more sporty...but I have a very large wrist. In any event I would not recommend anyone buy the 45.5 blindly without trying it beforehand.

Yep that's the problem. I tried them both and liked them both. Maybe it's time to flip a coin 😀

They're a remarkably solid and durable daily wearer, having the brushed bracelet and ceramic bezel makes you a lot less worried about them getting scraped and scratched day after day.

Not a problem really, just a choice 😀 I would recommend thinking about what other watches you have in terms of style and size as well as considering your normal wear (for example the 45.5 will have some trouble fitting under a cuffed shirt or tailored suit, while the 42 may just fit in, but not always. they're both tall watches) If I had only one, for me, the 42 takes the lead.

It's a 42mm on my 7" wrist. The angle of the picture is what's making it look like there's a little more space between the date window and the 3:00 marker.

Marc I bought the same watch almost at the same time. Out of curiousity how's the accuracy?

Mine gains 3 seconds a day compared to my cell phone. I never take it off, even at night.

I haven't really monitored it closely, but I can say for sure I've only hacked the movement once to re-adjust the time and that was about a week and a half ago because in the time I had the watch after nearly daily wear, though I did switch it out one day for my Seamaster 2531 when I needed a slightly slimmer timepiece to slide under the shirt I had selected for work that particular day, and once for my Breitling Steelfish to wear at a dynamic shooting class. Both times, the PO went on a winder and when I hacked the movement, it had picked up about 2 minutes. By my approximation, not bad at all. Since hacking the movement, it's been spot on. I chalk it up to the movement settling in.

So a 42mm PO wears the same as a speedy pro, only a lot thicker?
I'll have to take your word as the last time I tried on a Speedy Pro was at least 10 years ago when I was trying to decide between my Seamaster 2531, a Speedmaster Pro, and a Seamaster Aqua Terra Rail Master...and what wasn't while wearing a proper dress shirt. I do know for a fact, however, that the PO 8500 movement wears a good bit thicker than a PO 2500 movement.

Here's my PO with a Hirsch Robby strap on it. Really comfortable and changes the look a lot.
