Had this a year now and still can't decide if a Seamaster should be on rubber or steel?
If you could have only one, which would it be?

Personally, if I could only have ONE, i'd choose the rubber, due to versatility, comfort, ease of access for changing size (wrist balloons up and down on hot days).

I do tend to wear mostly on rubber.
However, the beauty of the bracelet is the micro adjustment is instant, so on hot days when your wrist 'balloons', it is as quick and easy to adjust the bracelet as to adjust the strap.

If only one?!...bracelet as it's hands down more versatile in my opinion. It can more easily be dressed up and dressed down. If we're talking jeans and a t-shirt all day everyday, or you are amphibious (i.e. - a pool or ocean goer), than that may sway my answer to rubber.

The Seamaster 300M 5 link (which looks like 9 link) bracelet is one of the typical and iconic elements of the watch. Even though it's hefty due to its non tapering design I think a 300M is incomplete without it.

The rubber is super comfortable and it dresses the watch down a bit. I think it gives more flexibility. However, if you like to keep things more "classy", I'd keep in on the bracelet.

Forget the "only one" thing. Get a tool and use it. Or get a second watch and have one on each.

have fun

^ this. Seamaster on rubber, get a Speedmaster on bracelet (and then start buying straps for it).

Rubber for me. AINEC.

Didn't wear the watch much when it was on the bracelet. Moved it onto the OEM rubber and it's ice if my most comfortable watches.

Oh man cut that nasty piece of rubber off the watch and put the bracelet on. Sheesh!

The bracelet is just about un-useable to me. The lack of taper, thickness, and weight genuinely had me regretting my purchase. Then I purchased the OEM rubber strap and it is extremely comfortable and I love the look on it. While I am normally a bracelet guy, on this one I vote rubber strap. Different strokes for different folks as they say.

it’s great that Omega offers both options as there are obviously many others who feel the exact opposite as me.

Bracelet for me all day long. I personally do not own any rubber straps; however, I do quite like the look of the rubber on your seamaster.

Cordura 😀

Since I got it it's the only one that keeps my watch on the wrist.

Bracelet is my preference..... Switch it up when you feel the need....Maybe even rotate in a cool nato. My seamasters are on bracelets most of the time but it’s fun to change em up once in a while 😁

Rubber. I really like some of the sailcloth pattern options too. That Cordura strap is great.

What a combination! Is that the strap from the silver (45th anniversary) Snoopy?

I believe for this watch the rubber strap only comes with the Tang buckle. It would be nicer and easier to put on and off it it had rubber on deployant. My advice is to get the watch on the steel bracelet then get either the original rubber strap and have both. Or choose some other rubber or cloth option and it will make the watch lighter and more casual.
