Again - From the great Apollo Surface Journal research

Armstrong: That's one small step for (a) man; one giant leap for mankind. (Long Pause)

At the time of the mission, the world heard Neil say "That's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind". As Andrew Chaikin details in
A Man on the Moon, after the mission, Neil said that he had intended to say 'one small step for a man' and believed that he had done so. However, he also agreed that the 'a' didn't seem to be audible in the recordings. The important point is that the world had no problem understanding his meaning. However, over the decades, people interested in details of the mission - including your editor - have listened repeatedly to the recordings, without hearing any convincing evidence of the 'a'. In 2006, with a great deal of attendant media attention, journalist/ entrepreneur Peter Shann Ford claimed to have located the 'a' in the waveform of Neil's transmission. Subsequently, more rigorous analyses of the transmission were undertaken by people with professional experience with audio waveforms and, most importantly, audio spectrograms. None of these analyses support Ford's conclusion. The transcription used above honors Neil's intent.

And i thought we were nerds 馃榿

No, the event was inside and the lightning far from ideal. At first we were told we could not take images, orders from Swatch Group management, but they decided otherwise on the spot. So nobody was really prepared...
Ahhhh ok. Than i completely understand why it seems to be that off color wise.

@Robert-Jan Please don't get crazy with future Speedy Tuesday releases when it comes to the frilly details on the dial like this watch has. Speedy Tuesday 1 was perfect and the Ultraman's "frills" are far more toned down than this. The sub dial image on this release and the "11" are so unnecessary.

Maybe the next watch can have some pearl on it so people won鈥檛 have to clutch just their necklaces

If that's the case, I suppose the real question is no longer if, but when?

If confirmed, that would make a new Speedy Pro even more marketable. Strange why they did not get this announced for the new Speedy 50th LEs. It would have been a big value add to move 6969 LE watches.

Perhaps they are awaiting to announce something on July 16? The Apollo 11 launch date and by a fluky-destined-to-be-a-Speedmaster-collector coincidence, my birthday馃榾 or perhaps, more likely, on July 20, the actual moon landing date?

I would certainly consider purchasing a new NASA qualified 3861 all SS SpeedyPro to be used in future Space missions. Well fingers crossed.

Yes I agree with you,and think the SS Speedy will have the 3861caliber in the very next Future but I really like the new Deville Tresor in SS at last and for the caliber 321, Omega chose the right way to put it on a Platinum Speedy otherwise they could have destroyed the grey market by putting the 321 in a SS Speedy, this are my predictions about Omega, I could be completely wong, time will tell.
Are we sure the 321 will be platinum only?

No, they only thing Aeschlimann said is that it will be released in precious metal first.

Is it true that it will be limited in production? Like 2000 pieces a year?

Could be, I don鈥檛 know. Limited by production in any case, not LE.

First of all I must say that your review on fw was great..
This will be a bit of a controversial watch and, in my opinion, comes second to the gorgeous gold one that was previously announced.
From the teasers you could tell that there would be a splash of gold in this one (b/w film with a tad of gold) plus the fact that 50th anniversary is gold and it seems a bit Italian...
Since you have seen it up close, the dial is always grey or times it seems like blue?
One has to see it in metal, but it does look quite interesting....
If I would criticize I would say that the 9 o鈥檆lock subdial is a bit different but all the other details are clever...
I would prefer a hesalite instead of a sapphire crystal... (same with the gold one)
Cheers

In my understanding of the Omega world, Limited Edition and limited production are the same thing except they tell you the number being made up front with the LEs. 馃槈

Have this on my iPhone. Clasp is a bit similar to the gold version.
@Robert-Jan, do you have any more photos of the clasp and the way the end links are seated in the case that you could share with us? The later point looks quite different to the classical Omega approach.
